TThe Commission organizes and administers a program for the U.S. Department
of Education/Fulbright-Hays Summer Seminars Abroad Program. The theme
established by the Commission and approved by the Department of Education
for the Summer of 2007 is: "Getting to know America’s Neighbors: Mexico and
Canada Facing the XXI Century".
This is a five week program of travel, lectures, workshops, cultural events,
as well as visits to communities, historical, and archeological sites in
Mexico and Canada related to the selected topic. The proposed dates for the
2007 seminar are late June through to early August. High School and
University level teachers in humanities and social studies are preferred;
Administrators, Supervisors or Curriculum Specialists of State or local
Education Agencies with direct responsibility for curriculum development in
social studies or humanities are also encouraged to apply.
