Grants for Students A.
All Disciplines Award. Program Description:
This award provides candidates at all degree levels (undergraduate,
master’s and doctoral) with the dynamic opportunity to pursue research
or internships relating to their thesis, dissertation, or individual
fieldwork on issues of relevance to both countries.
Security Policy
The commission follows the recommendations of both the Mexican government and
the U.S. Embassy Travel Warnings when placing US Fulbright grantees in Mexico.
This may mean that placement will be restricted in certain states or areas of
Mexico depending upon these recommendations.
Fields of Study:
Although applications will be accepted in all fields of study, the Fulbright
Commission (COMEXUS) is especially interested in attracting students
pursuing fieldwork or internships in public administration or public policy.
Other fields of interest for COMEXUS are projects conducted by U.S. students
on Mexican culture, society and politics to deepen the understanding of
Mexico in the United States. Areas of collaboration go far beyond border
issues, which are also of relevance to the Commission, and can include
projects on migration, ecological issues, public health, education, public
policy, environmental protection, human rights and trade policy. COMEXUS
will also support projects in the arts that further dialogue and contact
between U.S. and Mexican arts communities.
Applications will be accepted in all fields of study except medicine and
dentistry.
